Above the bar
Bold, beautiful, and ready to serve
Beyond the dining room at Threshers Barn sits the ultimate luxury, a high-spec home bar.
As part of a whole-house interiors project by Taylor & Turner, the space was designed to be a standalone statement entity whilst aligning with the overall scheme.
Created for functionality as well as aesthetics, the bar includes a sunken prep area, optics shelves, an integrated beer tap, ample glass storage and bespoke bottle racks. Whether in full-cocktail-party-swing or facilitating pre-dinner sharpeners, the Threshers Barn bar is set to serve!
CABINETRY: Traditional Shaker cabinetry with a classic square edge profile is hand-painted in Farrow & Ball's 'Preference Red'. Full-height cupboards are shelved and racked for glasses, chinaware, linen and bottle storage. Slim glazed optics shelves, with polished brass fiddle rails and antique mirror back panels set forward for alignment, bring authentic old-bar-style glamour. A bare central back panel with integrated lighting allows for feature artwork. A walnut and brass library ladder, sustainably sourced real wood walnut veneer internals, and a reeded walnut island front with an antique brass footrail add warmth, depth, and elegance to the space.
DETAILING: Burnished brass handles adorn cabinetry throughout. A natural polished marble with a bespoke edge profile is cut to form a spilt-height service/bar side worktop. Beneath the service side sits Fisher & Paykel glasswasher drawers, a classic Shaws of Darwen butler's sink and living brass Quooker tap, a beer firkin and cooler storage, and pullout bins.
