Albany Mansions
Battersea Park, London
PROJECT TYPE: Whole-House Cabinetry
INTERIOR DESIGNER: Lorna Wright Design
OVERVIEW: Lorna Taylor Wright worked hand in hand with the Barr Joinery team to bring a full cabinetry refit to life. Manufactured from natural timbers, as well as textured decorative surfaces, cabinetry throughout contrasts with and complements the original Victorian architectural features of this classic London mansion block apartment.

KITCHEN
Flat-fronted cabinetry is spray-finished for durability and a streamlined aesthetic. Farrow & Ball’s Hague Blue on the base cabinets contrasts with Paint & Paper Library’s French Grey Pale on the tall larder cupboards and on the faces of solid walnut dovetailed drawer boxes.

LIVING ROOM
Trademark Barr Joinery slimline Shaker sideboards are painted in Little Greene’s French Grey Pale and finished with Joseph Giles brass pull handles. Carefully sourced fittings include Luccini downlights and picture lighting by John Cullen.

BEDROOMS
In the bedrooms bespoke upholstered wardrobes and cabinetry feature inset lighting and are matched to fabric wall finishes and contrasting soft furnishings. Elsewhere, wardrobes feature inset antique mirrored panels and fine beaded detailing. Select use of XyloCleaf to cabinetry internals allows for a range of unique finishes.

A Minimalist Modernisation of a Thames-side Apartment
Set within a converted warehouse building, with its history in the hemp trade and shipping chandlery, the Barr Group team worked closely with Last Interior Design, to turn a dark and enclosed riverside apartment into a light, airy, restful abode.
