Monroe House

Surrey

PROJECT TYPE: Whole-house cabinetry

INTERIOR DESIGNER: Jess O’Grady

OVERVIEW: The cabinetry throughout Monroe House seamlessly blends classic contemporary aesthetics with mid-century influences, evident in the use of veneer finishes and the detailing in the main dressing and dining rooms. Each element has been carefully tailored to enhance the home's character while providing functional solutions.

The classic contemporary approach features clean lines and sophisticated finishes that harmonise with the home’s architectural framework. The mid-century influence introduces warmth and depth, especially through the rich wood veneers and streamlined forms that add a sense of understated luxury. Jess O’Grady’s meticulous attention to detail ensures the cabinetry not only complements the overall design scheme but becomes an integral part of the home’s identity.

STUDY 2:

This space features a wall of bespoke joinery, showcasing straight grain oak for both the external and internal finishes, stained in Mylands Walnut for a deep, rich tone. The cabinetry is accentuated with Joseph Giles' 'Arnold' solid brass cabinet pulls, finished in 'Dark Bronze Waxed', adding a touch of understated elegance.

SITTING ROOM:

The sitting room is defined by bookshelves and lower cupboards flanking the chimney breast. Both the external and internal finishes use Mundy Veneer, creating a warm, cohesive look. The cabinetry is fitted with Armac Martin 'Arbar' cabinet knobs, adding a refined touch.
